Light Sensitive Update

Update Apr 22. Just got the following email from the gallery:

All of the work in Light Sensitive 2015 was wonderful and that made it a very difficult decision for us to pick only three artists for a future exhibition here at Art Intersection. This year’s selection for the December-January show will be Jonah Calinawan, Karen Hymer, and Rebecca Sexton-Larson. Since we just could not stick with only three artists, our executive director, Alan Fitzgerald, also awarded a Director’s Choice to artist Amy Rockett-Todd, which will also include featured work in the foyer during the December-January exhibition. Congratulations to all of you for your superb work!”

I’m totally excited to have AMS images exhibited along with work from three outstanding artists. Also excited to exhibit once again at Art Intersection, a learning and exhibition space. I love their mission (taken from their website):

Art Intersection engages with our community through educational programs, creative workspace, and exhibitions. Our community comprises individuals and organizations with a diverse range of photographic and artistic interests.

Happy New Year! This first post for 2015 is probably what constitutes a proper newsletter. Instead of short essays that relate in some way to my artwork, this one is all about news.

If you happened to be in Baltimore last week and found yourself near Baltimore Penn train station, you would have seen images from A Million Suns featured in the big electronic billboard.

On another note, High Noon Gallery will be showing select prints from A Million Suns in the Classic Photographs Photo Fair in Los Angeles happening on January 17-18 , 2015. Twenty-seven galleries and dealers of classic photography will be on site at Bonhams at 7601 Sunset Boulevard. If anyone will be in L.A. this weekend, please let me know!

Lastly, I’m excited to be part of an Alternative Process Group Show at Milliken University in Illinois, curated by Johnny Power. The show will feature work from colleagues J. Jason Lazarus and Maureen Delaney. I’m sending seven framed prints. Here they are in my studio, all ready to go.
